Do Not Look For Healing At The Feet Of Those Who Broke You
Read this to yourself.
Then read it out loud.
Allow the depth and truthfulness of healing to really sink in. Allow the harsh reality to bury itself, layer by layer, into your soul. Let it marinate. Immerse yourself in the openness. Acknowledge the realness, the relevance.
Think of all the different sorts of relationships (romantic or not) where this holds some truth and do yourself a favour by doing a few things.
It's as easy as ABC.
A. Acknowledge and Accept.
Reflect on your behaviour in the past and notice the ties where you perhaps gave someone else the power to break you and then hoped that they would have the heart to mend you.
Note: it is often the kindest souls who put the most faith in others because they expect others to treat people the way they would treat others. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
B. Behaviour Check Yourself!
Begin making changes. Every time you catch yourself going back to old habits and expecting or hoping someone else can or will make you feel better, take a deep breath. Take a step back and understand that it is no one else's responsibility to make you better, and in fact it is actually your RIGHT and your POWER to do that for yourself. Trust me, it will be so much more worthwhile!
C. Commence Self-healing.
Give yourself time, love and respect. Be patient. Be kind.
