A Gratitude — Things I Am Thankful For In 2017
I am thankful.
I am thankful for my irreplaceable family, for my beautiful friends, for my home and for the people who never cease to make me FEEL at home.
I'm thankful for clean drinking water, the delicious and healthy food I am blessed to give my body.
I’m thankful for my body.
Thankful for my arms for hugging people,
my feet for allowing me the mobility to adventure,
my hands to hold yours,
my legs for holding me upright,
my tummy for holding my food,
my lips for being able to show my love in kisses,
my tongue for tasting a multitude of textures and flavours,
my ears for hearing the birds sing the universe to life each morning,
my nose for smelling (especially coconut-scented candles and salty air in the morning),
my eyes for seeing the beauty that surrounds us,
and my skin for protecting my organs and helping me feel the sunshine on my back or the breeze on my face.
I'm thankful for my heart, because it has the capacity to receive as well as to give (and give and give and give).
I'm thankful for my soul, for my breath, my balance and my spirit.
I'm thankful for sleep, rest, relaxation and also work, dedication, commitment.
I'm thankful for pain as it reminds me I am alive.
I am thankful for emotions (good AND bad) because they remind me I am human.
I'm thankful for my existence, I am thankful for yours, and most of all I am thankful that we are here, gracing this world together.
I am so, so thankful for my life and for the challenges, tasks and obstacles it throws at me. These are a constant reminder to be balanced, rational and thoughtful.
I'm thankful for my thoughts, my mind and the unlimited potential it provides.
I'm thankful for all I have been blessed with. Yet I am even more thankful for what I have not.
What I am deprived of inadvertently provides me with more to be thankful for: motivation, growth, development, character, education, knowledge and experience.
There will always be people who are less fortunate than us, and always others who appear to have more.
It does not change that we are here, alive, breathing and blessed.
We are blessed. Period.
We need to cease to compare our own lives and blessings to those of others, for this is when true happiness and appreciation occurs.
We need to recognise and accept our own blessings, then find a way to multiply the essence and life of each and every blessing and spread it onto others. We need to consciously and with compassion pass blessings forward.
We need to make our own blessings, a blessing to someone else.
What are you blessed with?
How can you grow, share or utilise that blessing and transform it to be a blessing for someone else?
Love and light,
